Ringland-Johnson Construction today announced it has hired Eliza Gawenda as the company’s newest Project Manager.
As Project Manager, Gawenda will monitor progress on different projects to ensure work is completed on schedule and on budget. Project Manager duties also include coordinating with project Superintendents and Subcontractors to make sure each build moves forward as planned.
Originally from Poland, Gawenda lived in the Chicagoland area and graduated from Lemont High School before earning a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. During her time at U of I, Eliza traveled to observe the construction of World Cup and Olympic stadiums in Brazil and various construction projects in South Korea through a highly selective master’s program.
Prior to working at Ringland-Johnson, Gawenda interned with several Chicagoland construction firms, gaining experience in road construction as well as private and public works construction throughout the region. She most recently worked in the military construction field with Bechtel Corporation to build a specialized facility in Kentucky to disarm chemical weapons.
