An expansion project upgrading a number of services and utilities at RPS 205’s Swan Hillman Elementary School is officially complete, Ringland-Johnson Construction announced today.
The $3.7 million project began in June 2015 and brings a number of improvements to the school. RJC crews added three new classrooms along with a new cafeteria and kitchen as part of the nearly 13,000 square foot expansion. State-of-the-art water, fire and sanitary systems were also added to the new space at Hillman.
“The new space at Hillman Elementary flows seamlessly with the rest of the facility and the new cafeteria will be a literal bright spot in the building with a number of large windows allowing in natural light. In addition to the significant system upgrades, we think the staff and students will be very pleased and we’re thankful to RPS 205 for this great opportunity,” said Ringland-Johnson President & CEO Brent Johnson.
RJC also completed major overhauls to the facility’s HVAC system and added energy-efficient, LED lighting throughout the new space. Major upgrades were also made to the school’s security and data systems. The new expansion accommodates for further renovations and additions to take place at Hillman, including new administration offices and restrooms as well as a new nurses’ station.
