The Loves Park Fire Department needed to add on to their existing facility to house proper equipment and staff.   Firefighters and paramedics were getting the job done, but they said services would improve once the expansion to station 2 was completed.

The $2.6 million dollar project was award to Ringland-Johnson in September 2019. The additional space includes housing bays for two new fire trucks and modernized equipment.  With nine firefighters and six paramedics, the extra space improves day-to-day operations.

“Response times will definitely be lower because more equipment will be here which is more central in the city and then with the addition in medical equipment that’s going to improve outcomes for our citizens which is the overall goal,” said Loves Park Fire Department Assistant Chief Tim Conley.

Construction was completed in December 2019.
