Sycamore Fire Station #1 Now Open and Serving the Community
It’s official — Sycamore Fire Station #1 is complete.
We’re proud to have served as construction manager on one of the most meaningful public safety projects in our region.
This journey has been years in the making. What began as a community conversation about the growing needs of the Sycamore Fire Department evolved into a fully funded, carefully planned, and expertly delivered facility that will serve residents for generations to come. The City of Sycamore’s $10.5 million investment reflects a clear commitment to protecting its people.
The project received a major boost when IDEAL Industries, Inc. generously donated 6.28 acres for the new station site — a powerful example of community partnership in action. From there, the City moved through planning, design, and financing, securing $8 million in bonds alongside general fund resources before breaking ground on May 5, 2025.
From that first ceremonial shovel to final completion, our team remained focused on precision, coordination, and quality execution. As construction manager, our responsibility was clear: deliver the project on schedule, on budget, and built to the highest standards. When you’re building a fire station, there is no margin for compromise. The men and women of the Sycamore Fire Department deserve nothing less.
Today, the finished station provides modern apparatus bays, upgraded accommodations for first responders, and the infrastructure needed to support faster, more effective emergency response as the community continues to grow.
We are grateful to the City of Sycamore, City Manager Michael Hall, the Sycamore Fire Department, and every partner who helped bring this vision to life.
This is the kind of work that reminds us why we do what we do.
Here’s to Sycamore — and the firefighters who protect it every day.
